THE ART OF MASSAGE

Indulge yourself in the most simple form of self-care.

Massage is one of the most simple, beneficial and enjoyable forms of self-care there is. Explore our massage rituals designed to enhance your Way of Water experience.

LOVE YOUR KIDNEYS RITUAL

Nourish yourself, calm your stress and relax your body with this Kidney Love Ritual. The kidneys are considered the seat of our yin essence in Chinese Medicine and are a foundation for living life with vitality and longevity.  Having a daily practice to care for these valuable organs will help to calm both body and mind over time.

Make the most of this experience with the following steps:

1. Find a peaceful moment in the day, preferably in the morning after your shower or in the evening after a bath, when you are already disrobed, to love up your kidneys.

2.  Start with a few deep breaths into the mid back and progressively relax your body from top to bottom.

3.  Then focus your energy on your mid back, sending your kidneys and adrenals love and seeing them healthy and vital.

4. Place a few drops of oil into your palm, rub your palms together, then gently place them over your mid back area.

5.  Slowly start to massage the oil into the area in a circular motion while continuing to visualize your kidneys healthy.  (There is taoist kidney massage practice you can learn more about in our Journal to enhance this ritual if you desire.)

6. Take 2-3 minutes for the massage and then another minute to breath slowly and deeply while visualizing all the stuck or stagnant energy in your kidneys flowing down and then out the bottoms of your feet.

8. For the final step, just pause, relax and slowly fold your body down allowing your hands to float toward or touch the ground.  Feel your mid and low back areas stretch out.  Allow yourself to sway gently side to side for a few moments, then slowly, one vertebrae at a time come back to standing upright.

5.  Slowly start to massage the oil into your breasts in a circular motion while continuing to visualize them healthy.  (There is taoist breast massage practice you can learn more about in our Journal to enhance this ritual if you desire.)

6. Take 3-5 minutes for the massage and then another minute to breath slowly and deeply while visualizing all the stuck or stagnant energy in your breasts flowing out and away through your nipples.

1. Find a comfortable place to sit where you can easily support your arms to massage your feet.

WHAT IS GONGFU TEA?

“Gongfu Tea” means making tea with skill. A time honored tradition and practice that requires a certain level of effort, dedication, passion and humility by the person who is pouring the tea. After many years of practice, the tea master cultivates a deep connection to the tea leaves & tea ware. It is from this connection that the greatest gifts of the ritual and ceremony can be exchanged between the person pouring and those receiving.
